ABOUT SOURCING
Okay I have come across way too many posts where there isnt a source from pixiv artists and I’m really sick of seeing it happening on tumblr. I know I am not the only one complaining about this but it really gets tiring to see. Just because most of these artists do not frequent this site, or speak/read english doesnt give us ANY RIGHT to take their artwork without proper credit. It’s wrong and these artworks do not belong to you to do so. So I’m going to ask my followers to please either reblog or just do this simple thing for me when you post art from pixiv to your blogs.
THERE ARE 2 WAYS TO GO ABOUT FINDING THE CORRECT SOURCE FOR AN IMAGE
1. Save the image and upload it here: http://saucenao.com/ (you can also just use an image URL if you click “advanced options”) find the source for the pixiv ID and add it to your click-through and source. (a link in the caption would be nice too but the first ones are fine.)
2. (what I do) Saucenao has a broswer add-on that you can download that makes this easier. You can right click and use the saucenao image search without saving an image to your hard drive you can find those here. It even has a few other image search options like Google to help.
Sometimes the image searches cannot find a source and THATS OKAY. There is only so much searching you can do to find these. But all I ask is that you at least try. 9 times out of ten, the image search will find the pixiv ID. If you feel you must post the image, please put disclaimers that THEY DO NOT BELONG TO YOU, and that a source is needed.
I try my absolute best to source images I reblog or find myself, but I have quite a few in my archives that art still missing some that I may have forgotten to double check or whatever reason. PLEASE, dont hesistate to ask me to source something I will not get mad and it will get done. And I ask that everyone who posts pixiv, deviantart, or any other artists images be sure to give credit for hard work!
